When I became a teenager I believe that God knew that I needed a "Dad" to be there for me. He sent me a wonderful couple to become my spiritual parents, Kyle and Patty Dill. Funny thing is, people say that we look alike! I call them Pappa and Momma Dill. They are wonderful Christian influences in my life still today. What great examples of a Christian marriage they are to Adrienne and I. It's my prayer that when Adrienne and I have children I can be like Pappa Dill.
Today we are going up to North Kansas City to have lunch with my Grandpa. He is another man who has been a great role model for me. When I graduated High School and didn't have anywhere to go and had no idea what I was going to do, so my Grandparents took me into their home and they have been encouraging me ever since.
My Dad back in 2001 excepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptizied on Sept.11 of that year in prison. He has since been released from and is a great example of a new believer excited and on fire for God! He is the sound man at his church in Chariton, IA!
And Adrienne's Dad lives about 10 minutes from us here in Overland Park. We have dinner together every Thursday. He is a loving father to his daughter and I think that he is even warmed up to his son-in-law.
So to all these men that I have talked about in this blog...Happy Fathers Day! We love you all!!
